Analysing a binary variable

Visualisation (n.a.)

As mentioned in the previous section, with only two categories the main interest is only in two percentages, which we can simply write in one line. A visualisation will not add much to this, and often be a waste of paper. If you do insist on visualising the results, you can use either a bar-chart or pie-chart. The bar-chart will be discussed as the visualisation for a nominal variable on this page, and a pie chart in the appendix of that page.

Also there is no need for statistical measures as the mode or a measure of dispersion so you can jump to the testing section.
